THE DECENTRALISED PUBLIC LIBRARY
Creating a permanent, hand-curated archive of human history and knowledge
WHO WE ARE
The Decentralised Public Library is an initiative focused on creating a truly permanent, hand-curated archive of human history and knowledge.
We utilise cutting edge technology and collaborate worldwide with individuals and institutions alike to preserve vital historical, cultural, and political information for future generations.
WHAT WE DO
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
With the support of the Arweave project, we utilise cutting edge blockchain-like technology to archive a vast array of data. This technology allows us to guarantee that vital primary sources remain unchanged since the day they were archived, significantly boosting future historians' confidence in their contemporary validity, aiding their historiography efforts.
ARCHIVING HISTORY, FOR FREE
For many potentially historically, culturally, or sociologically important datasets, we can offer permanent, free digital archiving. We're interested in a huge variety of data, for example: public domain works of art and literature, personal war diaries, historic newspaper archives, freedom of information requests and responses, and open access statistical data. Email us to discuss your data!
We work with individuals and institutions alike, worldwide, to achieve our goals. No matter the size of your dataset or who you are, we seek to work with you to permanently preserve your information. We believe it's vital to get a culturally and geographically diverse array of data permanently archived, to help future historians and researchers better understand our contemporary world.
